In January 2020, after the "Opinions on Further Strengthening the Control of Plastic Pollution" was issued and implemented, the provincial "plastic ban" policy was significantly accelerated. At present, all provinces have successively issued local "plastic ban".  

    It is estimated that after the implementation of the policy, the future demand for degradable plastics in the three fields of takeout, express delivery and agricultural film will reach 1,545,300 tons.  Compared with China's current market demand of 42,000 tons, the market growth space is 36 times.  

    By 2025, the demand for degradable plastics in China is expected to reach 2.38 million tons, and the market size is expected to reach 47.7 billion yuan.  By 2030, China's demand for degradable plastics is expected to reach 4.28 million tons, with a market size of 85.5 billion yuan.  The market space of degradable plastics in China is huge.

The latest policy document of 2021  

    In 2021, the first document of the central government will be published, promoting the green development of agriculture and strengthening the research and development of degradable agricultural film into the overall requirements;  

    On February 9, 2021, the State Administration of China, the National Housing and Development Administration and the National Development and Reform Commission jointly announced that for the first time, degradable plastics cannot contain PE, PP, PS, PVC, EVA and PET.  The third requirement is that by the end of 2021, public institutions should stop using non-degradable single-use plastics in the Stop Use of Non-degradable Single-use Plastics List (First Batch).
